Hello, I'm Clinton...

I have worked within local authority children's services for a quarter of a century. I started as a support worker within a children's home before achieving a degree in psychology and in social work, gaining experience within statutory teams. I worked within the Prevention and Intervention Team which supported families and children on the edge of care as well as reunification back home from care. I stepped back into Children's homes as Deputy Manager and then Registered Manager. During this time I helped to shape organisational policy and development and delivered accredited Social Learning Theory training to the residential staff.

I am a qualified therapist and counsellor supporting children and families with:

• Solution Focused Systemic Therapy

• Complex Trauma Therapy

• Person Centred Psychotherapy

• Person Centred Counselling

I am able to provide support to staff and managers in residential homes with clinical supervisions and formulations, group/team therapy, reflective practice as well as general consultation and services related to Children's Homes including a variety of training geared towards supporting staff to understand the impact of trauma and work in a therapeutic manner.

 

I have a specialism in family reunification, placement stabilisation and trauma informed practice.

I believe that understand the effects of trauma and adverse childhood experiences on a child's development is key to supporting them achieve positive outcomes and strategies to lead fulfilling lives in the short, medium and long term.
