Hello, I'm Fred...

I have enjoyed a full and varied career, working with children in a number of different settings. I started working in children's homes back in 2003 within a secure setting and then within an open children's home supporting children with EBD. I have also worked within the supported housing sector, before joining the Youth Justice Service where I spent the majority of my career as a specialist substance misuse and exploitation officer. I helped develop the multi-agency framework to tackle Child Exploitation within Oxfordshire and led the YJS response to CCE and substance misuse, providing interventions to young offenders with complex needs.

I was a manager within the National Counter Trafficking Service supporting children who were victims of modern slavery via the National Referral Mechanism and influencing policy and safeguarding practices.

I am currently the Child Exploitation Coordinator for a London Borough and am the single point of contact for all Child Exploitation matters and coordinating efforts within the multi-agency group.

I wanted to get involved with Oxonia Care Consultancy as they really care about how they can make a difference and raise the standards of care provided in Children's Homes and in the lives of children.
