Hello, I'm Liam...

I have nearly 25 years experience working in Children's Homes and Children's Services in both the local authority and the private sector. I have held strategic roles such as local authority lead for behaviour management, lead for missing children as well as holding statutory positions including Registered Manager.

I have delivered training all over the country on a freelance basis as well as directly to staff within the local authority and private care providers.

I have shaped services and have formulated and introduced policies and procedures that have contributed to outstanding Ofsted judgements.

During my career, I have worked in pretty much every single role within a Children's Home, from night care through to manager and I know the importance of each unique role as well as the expectations involved.

​

My specialisms are in behaviour support, trauma informed care and safeguarding. I have been a qualified PRICE trainer for over 10 years and have developed a neuro-devopmental model that is used by local authority children's homes that considers how trauma and adverse childhood experiences impact upon brain development and how children develop emotionally, behaviourally and cognitively. I have also delivered safeguarding training for a Local Safeguarding Children Board.

Along with Lindsay, I have gone into Children's Homes that have been experiencing difficulties and crises and have helped to stabilise them and improve them, ensuring that the children have received high quality and safe care.

I founded Oxonia Care Consultancy as a way to share my skills and knowledge as I believe that all children deserve the best possible care regardless of their circumstances or life history. Caring for other peoples children is a privilege and one that should not be taken lightly. My goal is to promote positive outcomes for children within the Children's Homes sector by making sure that providers have the knowledge, skills, values and ethics to deliver safe and effective care.
