The first networking event of many.......
The first networking event of many.......

Oxonia Care Consultancy is very proud to announce that it is hosting its first-ever Networking Event for Children's Homes professionals in and around Oxfordshire on Thursday, 27th of February.

We have invited Registered Managers/Deputy Managers, Responsible Individuals, and Directors from both private and local authority children's homes within Oxfordshire, as well as key links within the local authority, to come and get to know each other better and share ideas and practices. We hope that providers can gain a better understanding of the needs of the local authority when placing children and also for those in commissioning to understand what local homes are able to provide so that Oxfordshire's children can be placed closer to home.

It is also an opportunity to find out more about us and the services and training that we can provide.

We have some guest speakers, including the opportunity for a bite-sized training session on the "risks of exploitation in children's homes" from our very own Fred Toon (who is also the Exploitation Coordinator for the London Borough of Lambeth).

We are providing lunch and refreshments and will even throw in some limited edition Oxonia Care Consultancy merchandise!

Places are limited, and we are prioritising homes within Oxfordshire in the first instance. We will open any remaining spaces to those from outside of Oxfordshire from February 14th.

With our local authority background, we feel that we can act as the link between the public and private sectors, between local placements and local commissioners, all for the benefit of the children who need a safe, loving, and nurturing home.

There are tons of benefits to networking:

Resource Sharing

Networking facilitates the sharing of resources, knowledge, and best practices. This collaboration allows children's homes and local authorities to access a wider range of tools and services, ultimately improving the quality of care provided to children.

Peer to Peer Support

Through networking, professionals can establish robust support systems for both staff and children. This creates a more cohesive environment where everyone can share experiences, challenges, and solutions, leading to improved emotional and psychological support for children in care.

Improved Outcomes

Collaboration among children's homes and local authorities can lead to better outcomes for children. By working together, they can develop and implement programmes that address the specific needs of the local community, ensuring that children receive tailored support and services.

Influencing Decisions and Strategies on a Local and National Level

Networking empowers children's homes and local authorities to advocate more effectively for policy changes and funding. A united front can amplify their voices, leading to improved legislation and resources that benefit vulnerable children.

Better CPD

Engaging in networking opportunities allows professionals to stay informed about the latest research, trends, and training in child welfare. This ongoing professional development is essential for maintaining high standards of care and support.

If you are interested, please drop us an email (before February 14th) to reserve your free place!
