We were pleased this week to hear about plans by the government to implement measures that will stop companies making "excessive profits" on the back of often sub-par levels of care.
The new admninistration say that they plan to bring forward plans that will require large providers to disclose their finances, potentially having profit limits imposed and allow Ofsted to investigate and fine "exploitative providers". We wait vwith baited breath ahead of the official announcement due on Monday.
Whilst we believe that as businesses, companies that operate homes should make a profit, we believe that these profits should come as a result of high quality and meaningful care. There are too many companies out there who see children's homes as a way to make a quick buck and don't fully understand the role that they play in childrens lives and future outcomes.
Our own consultancy business model os focussed on supporting companies to deliver the high quality care needed to generate these profits. Even so, we have our own moral compass, do our own due diligance on who we work with and will not support those companies who have a value base that doesn't align with our own. We will never move away from quality before profits but we can support your business to maximise both. That's a win win!!!!!
